Lourdes extends a warm welcome to students from other countries who are considering
application to Lourdes College. Your presence on our campus enriches the experience of
every member of our community, and we hope that you, too, will be enriched by continuing
your studies here.
We encourage you to read all the information on this site about Lourdes, our campus in Ohio,
our busy student life, and our outstanding academics.
International Admission Requirements
As you probably know, applying for admission to colleges in the U.S. can be confusing. Lourdes will
work with you to make the process as simple as possible.
Please review the list below for specific requirements for international admission.
We invite you to apply to Lourdes by
submitting the following items (required for all international students):
- Proof of English proficiency
- TOEFL score and test date (Acceptable score of over 500+ on paper version, minimum
173 on computer version).
- Proof of English as primary language for school instruction.
- Financial requirements
- A bank statement showing at least $22,770 to cover costs for books, food, housing,
tuition, and transportation for two (2) semesters.
- Educational background
- A complete record of all high school courses and grades.
- A complete record of all post high school courses and grades.
- A complete record of all colleges and universities attended, including courses and grades received.
- All transcripts must be received in native language and in English (signed by a notary
public to be true and exact).
- All transcripts must be submitted to WES (World Education Services) for academic evaluation.

Next Step: Getting your Visa
After we receive the above items, we will process your application and an admission decision
will be made as soon as possible. Once you have accepted our offer of admission, you will be
sent an I-20 form. Because this I-20 form is not a visa, it is imperative that you take this
form to the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. They will review your case and grant you a
student visa. Once you receive your visa, you can enter the USA 30 days before classes start.
Upon arrival you will be issued an I-94 card. This document is important for you to keep.
